Spotify Sleep Timer is a new feature added by Spotify and apparently has received positive responses from users. Have you ever started to listen to music on Spotify and fallen asleep? You put on some relaxing music after a difficult day at work to only wake up a few hours later with the app still running. Thanks to the sleep timer feature on Spotify, you can avoid things such as wasting too much battery life or using too much mobile data.

In what looks like a server-side change, Spotify has quietly added a highly-requested feature from users — a sleep timer. The feature is now available on Android, here’s how it works.
Rolling out over the past couple of days to Android users, the latest Spotify update surfaced a sleep timer in the “Now Playing” menu.
As you’d expect, this feature stops music playback after a set amount of time has passed, a handy option for those who like to fall asleep while listening to their favorite tracks.
The feature’s addition shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, though. A recent leak showcased the functionality ahead of the full rollout.
Regardless, it’s still great to see Spotify adding this highly-requested option for users.

How to Set a Sleep Timer on Spotify for Android
To access this new feature, you’ll first need to be on the latest Spotify update from the Play Store.
The next time you want to listen to some relaxing music to fall asleep, remember to turn the sleep timer feature on for Spotify.
1. Launch the Spotify application on your iPhone or Android device. If needed, sign in to your Spotify account.
2. Select the song or podcast that you want to listen to.
3. After you select your song or podcast, tap the “…” located in the top-right corner of the screen.
4. Scroll down and tap “Sleep timer,” and a new page will open.
5. Select a time limit for how long you want Spotify to play before it automatically turns off. You can select anywhere from five minutes to an hour.

After selecting a time limit, you’ll get a notification in the center of your screen notifying you that your sleep timer is set.
If all went well, Spotify would let you know that it’s all set up and you’re good to go. To change the time on the sleep timer, the steps are the same.
This time, after tapping on the Sleep Timer option, the Turn off sleep timer option will be there along with the time options.
Third – Party Apps to Turn off Music
If you don’t mind using third-party apps, you might be interested in an app called Sleep Timer for Spotify: Turn off Music.
The app is free to use with some ads to deal with. When you first open the app, the first thing you have to do is set the timer.

Once you’ve chosen a time, tap on the green Start button. The time you chose will be displayed on top in nice colors. Below, you’ll see options such as Open player, Extend, and Cancel.
When you tap on the open player option, choose Spotify from the list. The app should open Spotify automatically.
A feature that you’ll like is that when the time is up, the app will fade out the music until it’s completely off.
If you’re not quite ready to go to sleep and need more time, tap on the Extend button. Each time you select it, it’ll give you 10 more minutes.
Music has a huge effect on many. Sometimes it’s just what you need to relax at the end of the day. By setting a timer, you don’t have to worry about wasting more battery life than what’s necessary.
The app also works with other music apps, so if you ever stop using Spotify, you don’t have to uninstall the app.
